1. Our Aim
W89 GmbH wants this Website to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability, assistive technology, or device. As a benchmark we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, conformance level AA.
A benchmark is not a certification. This Website has not been audited by an independent accessibility body; the statements below are based on our own review and our own measurements.
2. What We Have Implemented
- The site works without a mouse. Every interactive element can be reached and operated by keyboard, and the focus indicator is visible at every step.
- A skip link lets keyboard users jump straight to the main content.
- Headings follow a single, unbroken hierarchy, with exactly one first-level heading per page.
- Text contrast has been calculated with the WCAG formula rather than estimated. Every colour combination used for text on this site clears the AA threshold for normal-size body text, including the gold accent colour.
- The layout works down to a 320 pixel viewport and at 200 percent zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- The site works entirely without JavaScript. Every page renders in full, and every link on it, including the contact address on these legal pages, is written into the page itself rather than assembled by a script, so it works whether scripting is enabled or not.
- No page displays an image, so no content depends on a text alternative being read out. The only image files served are the favicon shown in the browser tab and the logo used in page metadata.
- Animations respect the "reduced motion" setting of your operating system. Nothing on the site moves, blinks or loops indefinitely: the single animation, the tagline typing out on the home page, runs for approximately two and a half seconds and then ends. With "reduced motion" enabled it does not run at all and the sentence is displayed in full.
- While the tagline is being typed, the partially written line is hidden from screen readers and the complete sentence is provided alongside it, so assistive technology never announces an incomplete fragment.
3. Known Limitations
The following limitations are known:
- Testing did not cover every combination of screen reader and browser. It was carried out with automated measurements and keyboard navigation, not with a full manual assistive-technology audit.
- The body text is set in a monospaced typeface. Over longer passages, such as these legal pages, monospaced text is harder to read for some users than a proportional face.
- The Website is available in English only. There is currently no German version.
Barriers not listed here can be reported using the contact details in Section 5.
4. Legal Position
W89 GmbH is a private company based in Switzerland. The Swiss Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG, SR 151.3) primarily binds federal and cantonal bodies as well as licensed public transport undertakings; under the law currently in force it imposes no technical accessibility requirements on ordinary private company websites. Art. 6 BehiG does prohibit private providers of public services from discriminating on the basis of disability.
A partial revision of the BehiG, adopted by the Federal Council as a dispatch to Parliament on 20 December 2024, is intended to extend the scope to private undertakings offering publicly accessible commercial services, using WCAG 2.2 level AA as the reference. That revision is not yet in force.
We apply the recognised international standards regardless of that legal position, as a matter of quality.
5. Feedback and Contact
